MOON – THE FINEST NATURAL SATELLITE

The Moon is a natural satellite of Earth and the fifth largest moon in the Solar System.

It is approximately 238,855 miles (384,400 km) away from Earth and is about 1/6th the size of Earth.
The Moon’s surface is covered with craters, mountains, valleys, and lava plains, and it has no atmosphere, no magnetic field, and no water on its surface.
The Moon’s phases are caused by its orbit around Earth, which takes approximately 29.5 days to complete.
It is believed that the Moon was formed about 4.5 billion years ago as the result of a collision between Earth and a Mars-sized body.
The Moon plays an important role in tides and has been the subject of many scientific studies and exploration missions.
